Andrew started his CrossFit journey in 2008 while stationed in Okinawa with the US Marine Corps. It changed how he trains, how he nourishes his body, his attitude and his outlook on life. His personal goal is to always move well, regardless of age or condition, and his professional goal is to provide the same for his member athletes. He loves seeing the positive changes and attitudes they bring into the gym on a daily basis. As a coach, he is dedicated to movement efficiency, competition prep, program design, and nutrition.

In Andrew’s words: “After starting CrossFit I wanted to learn more and I have always been a helper. Once I saw how CrossFit and getting more into health education had a positive impact on me, I wanted to share that.”

Kayla stumbled upon CrossFit in 2015. It was new and exciting and definitely pushed her outside of her comfort zone. Finding how to become comfortable in uncomfortable situations has helped her to become the strong leader, mother, and student that she is today. Finding passion in health and fitness has lead her down the path to get her Master’s in Dietetics at UIC as well as run the nutrition program here at CFTC. Her favorite aspect of coaching is watching the confidence build in people before her eyes.

In Kayla’s words: “Finding the balance in life seems impossible at times, but with the right people surrounding you, the impossible becomes possible. I want to help people find optimal health so it can bleed through to all aspects of their lives. Why? Because everyone deserves it!

Melissa started her CrossFit journey with Tri-Cities and joins the coaching team with a passion for leading an active life. Amy is our Chief Happiness Officer. When you walk into the gym she is likely going to be the first smiling face you see. Not only has she climbed to the top of the gym in WODs but she is carrying all of our members with her. She celebrates all victories no matter how big or small. You will see her running around the gym at different hours implementing PR boards and cheering you on! She is one of your biggest fans!

Becoming a coach was a natural transition in Shaun’s fitness journey. He’s a people person who wants to share the positive influence of CrossFit with anyone who becomes a part of the Tri-Cities community. He himself lost 40 pounds with the training and nutrition guidance of Tri-Cities. Outside of the gym, Shaun is a husband and a father, and he enjoys woodworking.

Coach Shannon is the definition of strength and persistence. Her CrossFit journey is about as old as CrossFit itself. Her motto is attacking weakness and she lives it. After losing a significant amount of weight, she has shifted her focus to having the loudest coaching voice and heaviest deadlift! If she see’s someone falling behind she is the first person to cheer and encourage them back to the top!

Mark is passionate about staying sharp and up-to-date on the ever-evolving fitness world so that he may provide the best service in achieving the highest levels of performance for his athletes and himself. That’s always been Mark’s goal as a trainer and coach — to provide excellent service. His career in the fitness industry started at a typical big box gym focused on sales but with his discovery of CrossFit, he’s been able to meet his goals and grow a very rewarding career and work with inspiring, motivated people.

In Mark’s words: Today, I attribute my successes in life to the constant learning, adaptation, and development which takes place as a result of prolonged exposure to many diverse training programs.

Coach Angie is our vinyasa flow guru. Catch her on the yoga mats every Sunday morning dishing out some self love. In her 60 minute classes she focuses on best practices for recovery while providing a space to recover mentally from our busy lives. She preaches gratitude and balance during her flow. She works hard and plays hard. Off the mats you will find her jacking steel at the 5AM which helps to give her insight on best poses for that weeks recovery. She went from living in Florida and competing in local comps to becoming a wife, mother, and full time worker. She understands the different phases of life and encourages balance as she lives it.

Sara started her journey at CFTC. She quickly found a love for olympic lifting and hit the ground running. Prior to becoming a coach at CFTC, she worked at a preschool. With that background it was a no brainer that she became Brand X Certified to create a Kids program that tailors to all different developmental stages. You can find Sara on the platforms, running her kids to all their sports, or leading athletes at all points in their journey to find those victories. She is your cheerleader and a true force to be reckoned with.

Patrick is no stranger to CrossFit, gymnastics, or sprinting. This guy does it all! He has his CF-L1 and truly loves to train the body and the mind. He knows both Ancient Greek and Hebrew. Patrick has a beautiful family with two kids plus one on the way! He knows all about the balance in life. He loves movement mechanics and good music.
