Updates from Crossfit Tri-Cities!

Hey Everyone!  We hope you are doing well at home and doing your best to stay positive and healthy.  After Gov Pritzker’s announcement closing schools for the remaining school year, we wanted to give you an update as to how we will continue to bring value to your health & fitness while the gym remains closed, as well as provide some good strategies for beating this shelter!

First, do not lose your routine.  Habit helps create motivation, which drives purpose (more on that later).  Your routine may change, and you may not like what it becomes (I still do not get how people work out at night!), but you will feel better and more accomplished when you stick to a routine.  You will be happier. If you have been fighting an old routine, or refusing a new one, try to let yourself adjust gracefully to something new.

To help you in your new shelter-at-home routine, we are offering our Remote Coaching Package (a $229 value) at no extra charge to our current members. This will include extra coach check ins for accountability and personalized programming that takes into account your strengths, weaknesses & equipment you have on hand.  We have always believed everyone deserves good health – this is especially true during a pandemic. Kayla and I, as well as the entire staff at CFTC, are committed to keeping you healthy & focused.  To all of you who think you may benefit with some extra assistance from Remote Coaching, please ask your coach or contact Amy at amy@tricitiescrossfit.com.

Second, change is hard to deal with.  Especially when it comes with a subversion of expectations.  It can cause intense feelings of being overwhelmed, loss of motivation, or a “why bother” attitude.  When change comes, we need to do two things. First, is to self reflect and lean into what could make us happier AND drive us forward.  Too many of us are cutting bad deals with ourselves to stay in the past. The second, and most important, is to focus on what YOU CAN CONTROL.  This is a big one. A lot is happening. It is causing fear, insecurity, unknowns, and challenges. These are all normal, but focusing on them will not help your current situation.  Breathe and remember what you CAN control.

You can control where you spend your energy and time!  We want to help by providing more gatherings, BOLO for trivia night, more Kooking with Kayla, Lattes and Lockdown with Andrew, and more small breakout classes to stay engaged.  Your health, energy, and mindset are yours to control, and we are here to help!

How we navigate during this pandemic will not be a win or lose scenario.  It will be measured in how we feel we did afterwards. You will not be able to give your best as usual during this.  But maybe you can give your best effort at new things. Heck, I am becoming quite the homeschool teacher. But I also need to learn to juggle my kids’ school and my health.  I am not ashamed to say I need help with this. I definitely let myself believe this would be easier or at least different.

But it is time to continue to move forward.

We are going to get through this.  Don’t let it the fear, doubt, and uncertainty change you.  Let it push you to grow. Let it challenge you to be better.  And, definitely let people help if you need it!

Please do not hesitate to let us know how we can help you.  Come chat tomorrow and see some smiling faces during coffee.  We will get through this!
